Research Group ChairThe Department of Finance & Accounting focuses on topics in business economics that affect organisations in the public and private sector. Issues that come into view when the activities of organisations are viewed through an economic lens include: the valuation and financing of investments, the funding of goods and services, the avoidance of responsibility for financial results, management of operational and financial risk, and the internal information facilities required for management. The group also studies applications in the public sector with reference to tax increases and other responsibilities relevant to public finances in a democratic state. The associated topics in Public Management and Finance and Accounting form the third spearhead for the group.
